Ukraine-Heritage, Spirit and Future

To mark its 20th Anniversary, and to help strengthen Ukraine’s cultural legacy, in 2022, the Foundation ran a program of awards designed to recognize and celebrate exceptional talent in performing artists 35 years and under, by offering ten awards of $10,000 each to young Canadian performing artists of Ukrainian heritage and ten awards of $10,000 each to young Ukrainian citizens who have been recently displaced.

The Hnatyshyn Foundation and TD Bank Group Awards for Emerging Curator of Contemporary Canadian Art and Emerging Visual Artist

The Hnatyshyn Foundation - TD Bank Group Awards supported emerging curators and artists under the age of 35 whose body of work incorporates a public presence and peer recognition. From 2013 to 2015, one curator was selected annually to receive an award of $10,000. From 2016 to 2019, one artist and one curator were selected annually to receive an award of $10,000 each.

The Emerging Atlantic Artist Residency

The Emerging Atlantic Artist Residency provided one emerging visual artist from Atlantic Canada the opportunity to create new work within the inspiring surrounds of The Banff Centre over a period of eight weeks.

The vision of this residency program was to strengthen cultural connections between eastern and western Canada, and to assist in building the skills necessary for emerging Atlantic artists to be successful in their careers.
